In previous workshops, women have conceptualised several “out of the box solutions to build a sustainable future in harmony with neighbours. Among the ideas was the concept of a three-state solution, a connection between Gaza and the Westbank created by the essence of life: water.
A river that allows people to travel from the Med to the Death Sea, pilgrims, tourists, traders, and all open-minded human beings.
To the right and left of the shore, ecological agricultural land, generation-appropriate housing, renewable energies, sustainable tourism, research centres, academies for peace and conflict research and much more can be developed and managed jointly by Palestinians and Israelis. The third state would be another beginning; just like Canaan 4000 years ago when the first advanced civilisations lived in this region. Synagogues can stand next to mosques and churches, praying to this one God, so that tolerant, warm-hearted and altruistic people can enjoy each other’s company. This third state is the development of an empathetic democracy, where not the loud, violent, aggressive, nationalist extremists take the population under their ideological hostage.

Jerusalem would be a destination for many millions of people if there were peace. How many jobs could be created, how much hospitality could be lived, how many children could be given a future without fear, if one would only grant the best to the other. Peace is possible – and we will articulate it.
Our step 7
Step 7 of the Canaan Project offers a platform for those who want to reaffirm the dream of justice, non-violence and the preservation of nature for the benefit of future generations. Whether Jew, Christian, Muslim, Druse or atheist, what unites them is humanity.
After the surveys and round tables, we will devote all our energy to fund raising for a Peace Center in Jerusalem, where women will be professionally involved in developing a peace strategy.
From this institution, teams will be formed to deal with the causes of conflict (language, narratives, media, education, party behaviour, access to resources, etc.) and more importantly – will be invited to visualize a different future.
Instead of the crisis, see the chance
